1sabai hostel is a basic, no frills hostel which is situated around 10-15 minutes walk from Terminal 21 shopping mall. This hostel has dormitories as well as single rooms. However, all washrooms are common for the boarders.
Prices are dirt cheap considering the location of the hostel. Single bed bunks are available for as low as about 250 THB and private rooms are around 650 THB per night. One of the good things about this hostel is that you get free water which can be filled up from the purifier which is situated near the reception area. The kitchen is also situated near the reception area and can be used to cook light meals. As with almost all hostels, individuals need to clean up the kitchen after they use it.
Keep in mind that this is not a party hostel. Outside guests are NOT allowed and you will have to bear a fine in case you bring any one to the hostel rooms. In case you are a party animal, this hostel is not for you. You need to check with other party hostels and book it. This is a quiet hostel and completely value for money. The only slight problem is that this property accepted only cash when I went there. Since, the entire amount has to be paid in cash, so always keep Thai Baht with you while going there. The hostel should start accepting cards as well at the earliest so that guests are not inconvenienced.
Laundry services are also available. Price was 60 THB for one load when i went there (November 2018). You need to insert coins while using the washing machine. Change can be collected from the reception area.
There are a few supermarkets within walking distance from this hostel. So, buying groceries is not a headache as it is easily available. A few pubs and restaurants are also available within walking distance of this place.
Moreover, the highly frequented area "Soi Cowboy" is located just within 2-3 minutes walking distance from this hostel.
Overall, I will highly recommend this hostel considering the price, location, amenities and cleanliness. But keep in mind that this is just a budget no frills hostel. You cannot and should not expect anything fancy from this hostel. I will suggest to book the single rooms which is for double occupancy and and has complete privacy. Also the Air Conditioner in the single room can be used 24 hours a day in comparison to the dormitories in which the ACs are kept switched off during the day.
Please keep in mind that this property has lots and lots of cats. The owners love cats and hence you will find multiple cats all over the reception area. In case you don't like cats, then it may create a slight inconvenience for you. However, the cats do not wander off to your rooms, so don't worry about that!
