The Minotel Hotel is situated just at walking distance from Patong Beach. It is a decent, budget hotel run by a lovely couple who are extremely helpful.
I went to Phuket in November 2018 and stayed at this hotel for 5 nights at a very low rate of around Rs 1700 per night. The location is very good and currency exchanges, ATMs, supermarkets, pubs, eateries are all within less than 2-3 minutes walking distance. The couple upgraded by stay to a much better room and I was really thankful for that. Rooms are slightly old looking but you cannot expect much from a budget hotel and that too at such a wonderful location.
The famous area "Bangla Road" is also within 5 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Bangla Road is a normal road at day time but during the night, it transforms into a party lane with music, neon lights, tourists and girls lining up in every nook and corner of the road.
The hotel's AC were working fine. Bathrooms were equipped with handwash and bodywash. The bathroom was also just average but manageable. Even though the hotel was in the main street, I had no problems inside the room while sleeping. The sounds from the street was insulated from the rooms. Loud noises may still be heard from the rooms but the entire 5 nights that I had stayed, I had no problem with my sleep.
There is also a restaurant downstairs where you can have all kinds of food. I did not opt for complimentary breakfast because the booking price was higher and anyways everything was available at the supermarket for a much lower price.
The only slight inconvenience was that there was no lift in the hotel. I had to take the luggage to the second floor through the stairs. But I was very touched when the lady owner helped me with my luggage, struggling herself while she was bringing the luggage to my room. Try to get a room in the first or second floor otherwise travelling through the stairs will be a slight pain.
I also booked a few tours through this hotel which surprisingly was lower in cost than that outside. I also booked a whole day Phuket Tour with the owner of the hotel where he showed us many places in his car.
Overall, this hotel is a very good place to stay considering the low price you are paying. Other hotels cost at least double to triple than this hotel at this location. I will surely stay at this hotel one more time if I get a chance to go to Phuket again.

Thus, you see that there is almost no cons of this hotel. Stay at this hotel, I am sure you will not be disappointed.
