Top 5 Beaches in Bali

Updated: Mar 20, 2023

Bali is one of the few places on earth which is blessed with a picturesque coastline. The many beaches present in Bali will provide you with an endless variety of options.

“The best beaches in Bali are Jimbaran Beach, Seminyak Beach, Kuta Beach, Sanur Beach and Nusa Dua Beach.”

However, in my opinion, all beaches look essentially the same with only a few minor differences here and there. Of course, beaches with a mountain or so in the middle of the ocean looks really fantastic. (Like the beaches in Thailand)

So which beach is good for you?

Seminyak is known for its beautiful beaches. It is Bali’s upmarket beach resort area, where luxury five-star resorts, secluded villas, world-class beach clubs and hip sunset venues line the coastline and main streets. Most of the island’s best restaurants are found in this area. It’s also a shopping paradise with many designer boutiques and brand shops around.

  • Good food and varies range of dining options with a good nightlife.

Kuta is Bali's most famous beach. It is a favourite for budget travellers and backpackers. There are countless number of restaurants, bars etc and a wide variety of hotels to suit any budget. Kuta is also very near to Denpasar airport.

Pros of staying at Kuta:

Jimbaran Bay is one of the most beautiful places in Bali to view a sunset. Most of the hotels present in this srea are five-star resorts and other high end hotel chains. There's also a wide range of dining options available here. Have a romantic sunset dinner at Jimbaran Beach with your loved one in the popular ‘Jimbaran Seafood Cafes’.

It is one of Bali's most expensive areas. You will find hotels in Nusa Dua which are international five-star resorts. The gorgeous white sand southeastern coast is a treat for the eye. A 24-hour tourist police force patrols the environs for the safety of the tourists. Quality dining options are within respective hotels only. Nightlife is mostly contained within hotels.

Sanur is famous for being mostly slow-paced and laidback. This quiet sunrise beach offers a relaxing coastal atmosphere. Here you will find some of Bali’s finest hotels, perfect for honeymooners and elders looking for a classical Bali setting, and those looking for a place where they can take things slow.
